Vick Wants to be a Panther

by Tom Van Wyhe on March 2, 2010

Michael Vick let slip during a radio interview that he would like to play for the Carolina Panthers in 2010.

“If I could play for any team in the league, it would probably be two teams, but if I had to pick one, it would probably be the Carolina Panthers,” Vick said.

He doesn’t mention what the other team is, but the idea he would like to play for Carolina is significant considering the Panthers quarterback issues. Fans are tired of Jake Delhomme’s underwhelming play, and Matt Moore doesn’t look like the future. Bringing Vick to Carolina would reinvigorate the franchise, especially as Vick continues to make huge strides in maturity.

And there are other practical justifications for Vick to pick Carolina.

“Well, you know, it’s close to home,” said Vick. “I like the uniforms. You get to play against Atlanta twice a year. Ain’t nothing better than playing against your former team, right? So, yeah, that would be a good look, it would be a good look.”

Stay tuned.
