Texans Not Interested in LT

by Tom Van Wyhe on February 23, 2010

Scratch Houston off the list. One sportswriter has ruled the Texans out as a potential suitor for ex-Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson, just one day he was officially released:

“The Texans need a running back, but they want young and hungry, not a back looking for one last contract.”

Perhaps it’s because Houston, the team that signed Ahman Green in 2007 and likely still has a bad taste in its mouth, doesn’t want to take a chance on a 30-year old running back coming off the worst statistical season of his career.

Having said that, there are certain teams that could use a running back with Tomlinson’s experience. For example, the Chicago Bears struggled to run the ball last season, and Matt Forte was a massive disappointment in his second NFL season. And there are few fans who would argue the Bears don’t need the leadership and savvy Tomlinson brings with him.
