Steelers Holmes Arrested on Drug Charges

Bad news for Pittsburgh Steelers fans and those with Santonio Holmes on their fantasy rosters: the wide receiver was arrested Thursday afternoon on charges of drug possession. The officers reportedly found three marijuana-filled blunts in his SUV and learned that the wide receiver had smoked in the vehicle the day before. He was not, however, impaired at the time of the arrest.

This isn’t good news, though. The NFL spends much of its time cracking down on players who are arrested, especially those charged with proof.

And though it was two years ago, it is worth noting that Holmes was arrested twice in the summer of 2006 for disorderly conduct and on charges of domestic violence.

The NFL looks down on a history of arrests and there is the chance that the team will suspend or fine the receiver, so as to not get the league involved.
