Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Joey Galloway is expected to return to the Buccaneers starting lineup once healthy, but there is no guarantee he’ll return to his spot as the team’s split end.
Antonio Bryant, who has 31 receptions and leads the Buccaneers in receiving, replaced Galloway at the position after his injury. Now it appears that the job is Bryant’s to lose.
“We won’t move [Bryant]. We are not going to move him at this point in time,” said Gruden. “Now if Joey does come back, we’ll be creative as to how we get him going again. We obviously need him in the lineup.”
Galloway, who started three games this season, has 8 receptions for 74 yards. In the three previous seasons, however, Galloway finished with over 1,000 receiving yards and had 23 receiving touchdowns.
