At this point in the New England-Buffalo game, you’ve probably already changed the channel if you’re a Bills’ fan. Or you’ve clubbed your television set with a baseball bat. Both are very therapeutic.
But on a more serious note — and one that goes beyond the realm of football — there was some fantastic news coming from Kevin Everett himself. Everett, in a statement broadcast on the Jumbotron in Buffalo just before kickoff, thanked the fans and his teammates for the support he has received and noted that his condition is improving.
Everitt suffered a life-threatening spinal cord injury in the first game of the season. But while the injury will keep Everett from every stepping foot on a playing field again, it won’t keep him from doing most anything else: he’s expected to make a full recovery.
It’s an amazing story, especially considering some of the positives that have come about as a result of the injury. Most notably, Everett’s teammates developed a line of caps to honor him and benefit his charity. 100% of the proceeds earned will be used to further spinal cord research and can be purchased by contacting Dana Marciniak of the New Era Cap Company (see contact details below).
It’s a miracle and anyone — whether you’re a fan or not, whether you’re allegiances lie in Buffalo or elsewhere — can appreciate the extraordinary, inspiring recovery of Kevin Everett.

Where can fans get the caps? They’re only available in our flagship store in Buffalo, NY. But if there are Buffalo fans out there who really, really want one, they can send me a check (made out to Kevin Everett) and a note with what style they want (the 59FIFTY is $20, all the others are $15), I’ll get one out to them. The address is: New Era Cap, Attn: Dana Marciniak, 160 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14202.

I was at the game last night. His address on the Jumbotron was definitely the highlight of the night.
THE BILLS NEED SEVERE ASSISTANCE DEFENSIVELY. WHY NOT MAKE A PLAY ON MIKE RUCKER OR TERRELL SUGGS AT DE AND EVEN ALBERT HAYNESWORTH AT DT. I THINK THE BILLS NEED TO BE A BIG PLAYER IN FREE AGENCY THIS OFFSEASON. RALPH WILSON NEEDS TO QUIT BEING SO CHEAP, THE BILLS WERE $30 MILLION UNDER THE CAP LAST SEASON AND STILL MADE SOME NOISE DOWN THE STRETCH TOWARDS THE PLAYOFFS WHEN THEY WERE 7-6 AND VISITED CLEVELAND IN THE SNOW BOWL. THE ONE THING I FEAR IS THAT REX GROSSMAN IS COMING TO BUFFALO TO BE TRENTS BACKUP BECAUSE RUMORS AROUND BUFFALO ARE THAT JP IS GOING TO THE BEARS FOR A 4TH ROUND PICK. WITH GROSSMAN BEING UNRESTRICTED AND RALPHS LOW BALLING AND CHEAP STYLE I CAN SEE EXACTLY THAT HAPPENING!
