Terry Glenn

Here’s some great news: Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terry Glenn expects to return this season. That’s unbelievable news for the player that, at one point this year, didn’t know if he’d be able to play again, perhaps ever. Unfortunately, he hasn’t narrowed his return down yet, so no circling the calendar.

“His spirits are good,” coach Wade Phillips said. “He’s rehabbing his quad; they are building that up. Once you have a knee operation, you need the quad to go down, so they’re building that up.”

Glenn has made it clear he wants to take his time rehabbing. No need to rush things.

“I wasn’t healthy enough or strong enough to come back that soon,” Glenn said after the New England game. “It wasn’t like the surgery was related to that injury, but in a way it was. I had surgery and it made my quad a little weak and I couldn’t get my strength back in it.”

The 33-year old Glenn has had two surgeries this season, but, luckily, he won’t need microfracture surgery — an operation that could have ended his career.

His eventual return is great news for the Cowboys. Glenn opens up the offense and provides another target for Tony Romo. He realizes he doesn’t have much time left and wants to make the return to play for this team, the most dynamic Dallas has fielded since the Clinton administration.

“It’s not like I’m trying to get ready for a five-year run. I think we have a good team and we can win now, and I want to be a part of that.”
