Giants suffer pair of crucial injuries; Manning and Jacobs may miss month
Not that I want to write the Giants off already, but they are playing in the uber-competitive NFC East and already two key starters have been sidelined for a month.
Uh-oh.
In what was a great showing for New York (the offense, at least), both Eli Manning and Brandon Jacobs were stricken with injuries. And though the Giants are denying the severity of Manning’s right shoulder injury, ESPN’s Chris Mortenson reports that he may miss up to a month. And this comes after he passed for 312 yards and four touchdown passes in a losing effort against the Giants. So much promise; Peyton probably shed a tear for his little bro.
As far as Jacobs, his knee injury (sprained MCL, according to Adam Schefter) expects to sideline him 3-5 weeks. It’s an injury that will hurt fantasy owners who picked him up as a RB2, though most should take heart in the fact his performance was otherwise satisfactory. He did what we all expected: ran over defenders. He only played long enough to get 6 carries, but he picked up 26 yards and knocked over a few defenders en route.
At this point, best case scenario, the pair return to play at home against the rival Jets October 7th.

you cant forget about Osi and William Joseph’s injuries also
osi is out a month
joesph is on IR now
tough luck for the Giants
look for them to look into a trade for Chris Simms or maybe signing Byron Leftwich, either way, it appears big Jared Lorenzen will start this week against the swarming young Packer D. Look for a very reserve playcalled game that will hurt Plaxico, Shockey, and Toomer’s fantasy stats
With Jacobs out, Dedrick Ward will get his chance to shine. He may have a huge game.
