Bashed for taking Ted Ginn Jr. before Brady Quinn, the Miami Dolphins may be able to shut critics up this season. Ginn, already locked as the team’s number three receiver, has reportedly made some great strides during camp and he may surpass Marty Booker on the roster to become the team’s number two wide receiver.
The Miami Herald has even bigger plans in store for Ginn:
And so before this season is done, well before Ginn reaches his 23rd birthday, the Dolphins might have a new, startlingly fast, remarkably prodigious No. 1 receiver on their roster.
Landing such a role in an offense that features Trent Green at quarterback could pay fantasy dividends later this year. Green is Miami’s best quarterback since the Marino era, and, depending on how often Miami uses the passing game this season, he could put up solid numbers.
”His speed will make people defend us differently,” Dolphins general manager Randy Mueller said in an on-air interview during Saturday’s broadcast.
Ginn also might find a role as the number two wide receiver if Chris Chambers is punished by the league’s conduct policy.

I haven’t heard much of Ginn in the fantasy world this pre-season so it is great to see some inside information regarding his play. He has gone undrafted in three fantasy drafts I have been involved with so I will certainly be keeping an eye on him and Green as a combo.
It is interesting that the Dolphins spent such a high pick on Ginn but yet haven’t actually gotten him involved as much as that pick would suggest they should. That said I saw enough of him in college to know that he’ll be a difference maker, but more in the mold of a role player than a go-to type of guy. So fantasy leaguers should temper their enthusiasm, particularly this year as he’ll need to learn & mature.
