Carolina defensive tackle Jenkins a no-show at workouts

Carolina defensive tackle Kris Jenkins may finally have taken action to show his displeasure with the Panthers. An AP wire report says that the lineman was a no-show at team workouts today.
Granted, these workouts are voluntary. But perhaps Jenkins is a little upset the Panthers made the decision to flaunt him as trade bait before the draft. Rumors of a trade were recently rekindled by mega-agent Drew Rosenhaus — doesn’t represent Jenkins — who said “he’s definitely still on the market and for the right price, they would trade him.”
Will a trade go down? It’s difficult to say at this point. The Panthers have the necessary depth at defensive tackle and the team has been disappointed in the past by how Jenkins’ weight fluctuates to the point where he is usually around 20 pounds over where they want him to be.
He’s still a Pro Bowl tackle with a bright future in the NFL, and the Panthers shouldn’t have too much trouble finding suitors, should they decide to trade him. Stay tuned.
