Jenkins future with Carolina in doubt once again

Drew Rosenhaus is back, this time to stir up some controversy and talk.

The super agent told the Observer yesterday that he believes the team will trade Kris Jenkins, despite the team originally saying they no longer plan to.

“I don’t have any insight on it, but what I’ve heard is he’s definitely still on the market and for the right price, they would trade him,” Rosenhaus said. “So it’ll be interesting to see what happens.”

The benefit of Jenkins leaving is obvious: one of Rosenhaus’ clients, Damione Lewis, could move from Jenkins backup to the starting lineup.

Carolina has plenty of depth at defensive tackle, so a trade would not substantially hurt the team. In fact, they have already gone out and said this offseason that Jenkins was open for bidding.

One of the things that bothered the Panthers about Jenkins was his fluctuating weight. Right now? It’s at 380, about 40 pounds over what they want.
