Unfortunate news for Broncos fans: tight end Tony Scheffler will be sidelined from minicamps with a broken foot. Surgery is scheduled for Monday. Scheffler was running a route — no coverage — when he felt something pop in his foot. That “pop” will keep him sidelined for two months, hopefully to return in July for team workouts and before preseason.
“He’ll be fine,” said teammate Stephen Alexander. “I know he’s a little bummed, but if there’s a positive to something like this, it’s that it happened now and not in training camp. Once the season starts, everyone will forget this even happened.”
