Michael Vick may be much closer to being “sacked” in the recent criminal investigation of alleged dog-fighting. In fact, Kathy Strouse, the Animal Control coordinator for the City of Chesapeake in Virginia, believes that evidence could include video footage of Vick at the matches.
“We don’t know where (the tapes) are or if they do indeed exist, but I have been told that they are out there,” said Strouse, who is also affiliated with two other organizations involved in the welfare of animals. “Without knowing where they are, there’s no possibility of getting a search warrant at this point.”
Strouse also said she is “very confident” that she will eventually be able to tie Vick directly to the dog-fighting. Evidence substantial as video footage, however, would be devastating for Vick’s case, guaranteeing a sentence. The potential punishment for animal cruelty in the state of Virginia is a harsh one year behind bars. Not to mention that Roger Goodell will most likely suspend Vick between 4-8 games even if he is found not guilty.
