Did Brett Favre ask to be traded? General Manager Ted Thompson won’t say, though he did allude to the fact that Favre is unhappy, trying to explain why.
“I think it’s natural for a player to be frustrated from time to time - that’s simply being human,” Thompson said in a statement posted on the team’s web site. “Everyone knows that Brett Favre is all about winning. As an organization, we share that commitment. And we want to win now.”
Favre is clearly unhappy with the trade for Moss not being made, and it’s easy to understand why. The team has done nothing to assure Favre is it willing to win now, instead drafting players who will not make immediate impacts and rarely signing free agents who are anything more than fillers. All this, even though the Packers’ current cap situation allows them to pursue bigger offers.
