Alan Faneca: This will be my last year as a Pittsburgh Steeler
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been struck a serious blow: guard Alan Faneca has predicted 2007 is his last season. Though he wants to be traded, it does not seem likely a deal will be made. And with no serious contract negotiations in development, the Steelers can begin looking for his replacement.
The Pro Bowl guard is one of the anchors on the line, one of the reasons the team has enjoyed so much success running the ball. Losing him after the season will definitely be a hard pill to swallow. Good news? He will be around through 2007, so the Steelers will have an opportunity to make a run for the division.
