Bad news for Bears’ fans: Chicago defensive tackle Tank Johnson is scheduled to meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on May 16, shortly after he will released from his 120 day sentence in Cook County Jail. Johnson can expect to receive a suspension, if not a lengthy one.
Goodell has drawn a line in the sand when it comes to conduct violations, and a crime that subjects a player to a jail sentence is certainly worthy of a suspension. Pacman Jones, after all, has never actually been convicted of any crimes, but his series of run-ins with the law resulted in a year-long suspension.
