McNabb speaks up
Donovan McNabb kept his thoughts regarding the draft to himself. Meanwhile, every fan and sportswriter took a crack at getting inside of the quarterback’s head while he visited head coach Andy Reid for an explanation. But that all ended Tuesday when McNabb confessed that the drafting of rookie Kevin Kolb “shocked” him.
“When you draft somebody at the position you’re in, of course you have questions of ‘What does that mean?”‘ McNabb said. “The most important thing for me is to make sure I’m healthy and 100 percent and get back out there competing and do the right thing on the field.”
Obviously, it’s great news that McNabb’s rehab is coming along nicely. He’ll definitely be the nucleus of that offense come September, and being unhealthy would only hinder the team. And outside of a media concoction, there is no “quarterback controversy” to speak of. Just ask McNabb:
“If I’m healthy, it’s my job,” said McNabb, who sustained a season-ending knee injury in Week 11 last season.
