Former Green Bay Packer Ahmad Carroll has been waived by the Jacksonville Jaguars following his recent arrest for possession of drugs (believed to be ecstasy) and a firearm (9mm) without a license.

The Jaguars are smart to be releasing Caroll now, before he will most likely be punished by league commissioner Roger Goodell under the league’s new policy, though the penalty will most likely not be as severe as Pacman Jones’ or Chris Henry’s season long and eight game suspensions. Carroll is not a repeat offender like the above, though Goodell will not take the corner’s actions lightly.
