Trent Green says joining Dolphins is imminent
Quarterback Trent Green reportedly told a Kansas City Radio station today that he will ultimately be joining the Miami Dolphins and not returning to Kansas City. This is good news for Miami fans who were beginning to get anxious while deals were being made and rejected by both parties involved. Green did not specify whether he will be joining the Dolphins as a free agent or through a trade, but it is becoming more clear that the former is more likely.
This trade rumor has been in the works for some time this offseason, and Green has now essentially promised that he will be a Dolphin in 2007. Kansas City was being outrageous with its trade demands despite having no leverage to speak of; Green himself is unsure what will happen.
“In reality, if the Chiefs wanted to be jerks about it, they could drag it all the way until training camp,” Green said. “That would hurt no one but me and my family. It would just be a real negative for us in terms of trying to get kids situated, finding a house and finding schools and all the things that families have to do.”
