After the trade talks regarding the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins have fizzled down considerably, Trent Green’s agent has some words of encouragement for Dolphins fans out there hoping to get Green.

“They’ve told Trent they want to get younger [at quarterback],” said  his agent, Jim Steiner, referring to Croyle. “The Chiefs determined that, not Trent. … It’s grossly unfair of the Chiefs to keep Trent on their roster.”

While it is unlikely the two teams will reach a trade, the Dolphins can wait the Chiefs out. Because of salary cap issues — the Chiefs already have two quarterbacks on the roster, including the one they have deemed the future — Kansas City is will most likely release Trent Green in order to sign their rookie class. Green’s contract is around $7.2 million this season, and he is refusing to restructure with any team not located in South Florida, making a trade with someone else next to impossible.
