After much speculation of a Detroit trade, it is now being reported by Adam Schefter that the Lions have no intention of trading the draft pick and are now opting to draft Calvin Johnson unless a “blockbuster” deal comes their way.

Draftniks can set it in stone. If the Oakland Raiders take Johnson first, the Lions will be hard-pressed to find a team who will feel inclined to trade up to the number two overall spot after the best player is off their boards. However, there is a better chance the Raiders will instead fill their gaping hole at quarterback with the drafting of JaMarcus Russell, anyhow.
