A Washington Post article reports that the Oakland Raiders have been talking contract terms with three of the biggest names in the draft: Brady Quinn, JaMarcus Russell, and Calvin Johnson. Unfortunately, the team will only be drafting one with the number one overall selection. So, who will that number one be?

Many have already nailed in stone that the team will address its need for a quarterback with the selection of Russell. His arm strength is perhaps the strongest in football, and his rare size will allow him to get knocked down — and get back up again. Brady Quinn, on the other hand, doesn’t have the same arm strength and seems less appealing to decision maker Al Davis.

But Johnson presents a problem. The Raiders must ask themselves whether they want to fill the position they need most — quarterback — or select the best player in the draft, Calvin Johnson. The Georgia Tech wide receiver is an absolute freak — and I do mean that in a good way — who can change an offense with his game breaking abilities and uncanny combination of size and speed.

No doubt, only Al Davis knows who the team will pick when they are on the clock in less than two days. Now, we wait.
