Pacman Jones “advertises” he is on the right track

Titans cornerback Pacman Jones has certainly garnered plenty of criticism and controversy during his tenure in the NFL. Entering the league, fans knew him mainly because of his nickname based on the classic arcade game. But he managed to radically change his persona after 10 run-ins with the police.

After Roger Goodell laid down the law with his latest act as commissioner, Pacman was punished severely with a full season suspension. He is currently in the process of appealing, but any appeal will need to go through Goodell.

And so, in a last ditch effort he decided to purchase some ad-space in the Tennessean through which he wrote an apologetic letter which his attorney stated “came from his heart.” Naturally. One wouldn’t expect an attorney to claim that the $10,000+ ad was an artificial apology, one which Pacman is using as an “act of remorse” to work for his benefit dyrubg his appeal.

But one other action spoke a bit louder than words: Jones stated that he will be returning to West Virginia to work towards his degree. If he is sincere in that effort, great; maybe he can con(vince) us all into forgiving him for his actions.

A reputation takes a lifetime to build and a second to lose. Jones, your new life begins now.
