Trent Green deal may get done; QB agrees to contract
KansasCity.com reports that quarterback Trent Green has agreed to the terms of a contract offer made by the Dolphins. But one thing still holds the deal back from getting done: the terms of the deal.
“Now we need to work toward something that’s fair,” said Chiefs GM Carl Peterson. “We’ll talk again this week. Whether it gets done before the draft or not, I can’t say. It may happen this week, or it may not happen until after the draft.â€
Those who have been following the trade know that it has been going on for some time now. The initial obstacle was negotiating a contract that Green could agree to, but with that out of the way, a second issue has arisen.
Expect the teams to come to terms with a deal soon, probably within the next week or two. Miami will definitely want to get a deal made before the draft because Brady Quinn is one prospect the team is very interested in. If Miami has not yet come to terms with Kansas City by that time, expect the Dolphins to make a strong effort to draft Notre Dame’s Brady Quinn.
