WSOCTV.com reports that Adam “Pacman” Jones is appealing his season-long suspension dished out by commissioner Roger Goodell.

The NFL recently updated its policy on how it deals with players who are either suspected or convicted of crimes, usually multiple crimes within a short period of time. Jones has been arrested — though never convicted — on 10 occasions, his most recent essentially being the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Jones was recently arrested by Las Vegas police and accused of playing a part in a melee that ended in a triple shooting that left one man paralyzed. (For a full report of the incident, there is a very good article at reviewjournal.com.)

No one is surprised that Jones is appealing; it’s his last hope to see playing time in 2006. The appeal will be heard and decided by Commissioner Goodell.
