The NFL is always looking for the perfect game to launch its season. In fact, it treats the opening game like a Super Bowl, complete with a concert and fireworks.
And this year will be no different: the Colts’ and Saints’ offenses should provide plenty of fireworks, and, no doubt, high TV-ratings.
Both teams rank among the most popular in the league, and the Saints unanimously became every fan’s second favorite team last season after its home opener began with a bang.
The Colts are the reigning champs and their road to repeating in XLII will certainly be difficult to travel with the new bullseye on their backs. But rest assured, Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy are ready to face any opponent who may threaten their season, and, more often than not, walk away winners.
Thank you, NFL, for creating the greatest season opener to date.
