Scout.com’s Tom Marino goes the distance with his latest mock
Scout.com’s Tom Marino did a complete mock draft, going through all seven rounds of the 2007 NFL draft, which is now a little more than 18 days from happening. So, looking through the mock, which you can find here, I noted a couple of the top 10 picks not without interest:
1. Oakland Raiders - Calvin Johnson (WR)
As stated several times on this blog — here and here, specifically — it would come as little surprise if the Raiders do take Johnson first overall. His size (6′5, 235) and speed (4.35, 40) make him a force on the football field an, easily, the greatest athlete in this year’s draft. Al Davis loves his receivers to stretch the field and someone like Johnson could certainly do so.
7. Miami Dolphins - Leon Hall (CB)
In the mock draft, Brady Quinn does not fall to Miami and they end up drafting Hall instead. Like an earlier post said, “If Miami does fail to sign Green before the draft, don’t be surprised if they trade up to a higher position in order to guarantee the drafting of a quarterback.” Though fans and analysts have been predicting a Quinn fall for some time now, it wouldn’t be surprising if the quarterback is drafted before Miami, 9th overall, is on the clock.
